The world of comics can be such an exciting place and I want to help connect people in ways that uplift, enrich, and expand the entire community. I believe there’s something of value for everyone in comics, and if you can’t find it, I want to help you create it.

Outlet Comics aims to be a comprehensive resource for comic book creators and fans at any stage of their journey.

So what does “comprehensive resource” mean? I think being comprehensive about anything breaks down into two parts:

  1. Aim to be exhaustive in what you offer in a particular space. This is pretty close to the textbook definition, but for me it doesn’t work without the next piece.
  2. It needs to be accessible to everyone. This site and all its functionality should be accessible to everyone despite their race, gender, sexuality, class, or disability.

As for being a resource, I have a lot that I want to do and very little of that is aiming to be a competitive replacement for something that already exists. Much of the work I’m planning revolves around creating a home-base for a lot of the information and services that already exist in the comics community and then filling the holes by providing services that don’t currently exist or bolstering existing services that aren’t yet functional or scalable.

Since I’m doing this on my own with a little help from my friends and working with limited time and financial resources I’ve broken the overall vision into what I can tackle on my own and what I cannot, the latter being what I will need to raise funding for, find engineering help for, or both. Most of the help I will need is from an engineering perspective so if you share my passion for comics and also happen to have wicked coding skills and an abundance of time, please reach out.

I cannot wait to share more with you! In the meantime, make sure to join in the conversation on Discord.
